Hi everyone! Thank you for tuning in for this months book review. This month we are talking about “My Name is Hope: Anxiety, depression, and life after melancholy” by John Mark Comer. This is one of my favorite books on the topic of mental health coming from a Biblical perspective. A few things he covers are examples within the Bible of what mental health may have looked like, and then from those he discusses at how those people handled their struggles. He does not shy away from the power of sin and struggles, but what I love even more is that he doesn’t shy away from the power of Christ and prayer. That is not to say that he underestimates mental health. He fully recognizes that it is a “tricky monster”. He does well fighting against the stigma mental health often carries. I hope you find it as helpful and though provoking as I did.
