Jessica Hatton is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor who specializes in grief and loss. Having worked for Hospice in the early years of her career she provided care and counseling for patients who were in the dying process and also provided bereavement care for the surviving family members after the death. Jessica has led numerous support groups on the topic of grief and loss and taught classes on the subject, including specific classes on how to cope with the holidays. This support group will be held virtually and from a Biblical lens. Jessica will be utilizing scripture from the Bible to aid in the conversation and education. Participants will be welcome to share how their journey of faith has influenced their grief to the degree they are comfortable. The objectives of this support group are:
  • To provide women with safe support and encouragement as well as education as they begin or continue their journey of grief.
  • To provide a Biblical lens for experiencing and studying grief.
  • Educate and discuss the various models of grief.
  • Brainstorm triggers, preparing for them and coping with them when they surprise you.
  • Provide a list of healthy coping strategies.
  • Encouraging utilization of social support. Including learning to accept help and or ask for help when needed.
  • Provide numerous resources.
  • Will include a section on how to prepare for the Holidays without your loved one.
Who: Women who have experienced loss, ages 18+. Where: Virtual, Online. Once registered you will receive an emailed link to the group meetings. Dates: Wednesdays for 5 weeks. October 23rd, 30th. November 6th, 13th, and 20th. Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Cost: $96 (includes taxes and fees) - Less than the cost of one counseling session!
